Joo Hock has been with Vertex since its formation and has many years of VC investing experience globally in particular in the US, Singapore, Southeast Asia, Taiwan, India, China and Israel.
Prior to Vertex, Joo Hock was with the venture arm of NatSteel Group, Singapore EDB and spent a number of years in manufacturing engineering and operation at the Singapore semiconductor subsidiary of General Electric (USA).
Joo Hock graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Singapore and a MBA from the National University of Singapore.
Joo Hock represents Vertex on the Board of the following portfolio companies : Patsnap, M17, HappyFresh, eG Innovations and InstaRem. He is also actively involved in other portfolio companies including TickledMedia, Validus, Turnkey Lender and soCash.
Frustrated by the lack of technology to meet unaddressed client pain points, Rosaline invested $5M of her savings and borrowed another $5M to build CXA. Now CXA has 500 corporate clients, is valued at more than $100m with $33M in VC funding to expand to 10 countries across Asia. CXA has won innovation awards in HR, Healthcare and Insurance and was awarded Women Entrepreneur by Mediacorp.
Prior to founding CXA, Rosaline supervised Procter & Gamble factory lines in Iowa and then worked at Bankers Trust on Wall Street. She launched two dot-com start-ups before moving to ACE insurance. Rosaline also grew Mercer Marsh Benefits’ 14 APAC countries 800% over 8 years. She graduated from UCLA Cybernetics and Columbia Business School.
Managing Director Asia Digital, Andries is an Insurance Executive, Entrepreneur and a Chartered Accountant. Currently building and growing Aviva’s Digital Businesses in Asia. Starting with Singapore and Hong Kong.
His corporate career has centred on ‘digital’ and ‘transformation’ with a focus to deliver significant and sustainable value right through from strategy to execution. Experience includes, Group Integration Director for Aviva advising on the Royal Bank of Canada Insurance acquisition; Integration Director for Aviva’s acquisition of Friends Life; Transformation Director at Aviva leading the Digital setup and transformation; Functions Transformation Director at Aviva driving simplification and lean functions; Commodities Controller at Morgan Stanley responsible for building a new Dry Freight ‘physicals’ business.
Andries has also found and exited multiple digital startups including Rent-a- Quad, Redenaars, Habittool and SME Discounts. Deep experience of organisational transformation and entrepreneurial endeavours (in South Africa, UK and Canada).
Nizam is a Partner of RHTLaw Taylor Wessing. He also spearheads and is a Co-Founder of RHT Compliance Solutions, a dedicated financial services compliance consultancy/solutions provider. He has 25 years of experience and expertise in financial services regulatory compliance and litigation.
He was Executive Director and Head of Compliance for Southeast Asia in Morgan Stanley Singapore. Nizam was also formerly Senior Vice President and Head of Compliance for Southeast Asia at Lehman Brothers Singapore, Executive Director (Legal and Compliance) in Nomura Singapore and Senior Legal Counsel of Citigroup (Corporate and Investment Bank). Nizam’s area of compliance coverage included markets, investment banking, corporate banking, private banking and asset management. Nizam’s product coverage included fixed income, equities, commodities, currency, rates, derivatives, futures, structured deposits.
Nizam spent six years as a regulator at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), where he was Deputy Director and Head of the Market Conduct Policy Division.
Athistha (Nop) Chitranukroh is of counsel in Tilleke & Gibbins’ corporate and commercial group. She leads the firm’s non-contentious insurance practice. As part of Tilleke & Gibbins’ insurance group in Thailand, Athistha advises on the insurance and commercial aspects of market entry, regional operations, distribution and commercial agreements, strategic transactions, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and employment, among other areas.
Prior to joining Tilleke & Gibbins, Athistha served as Senior Vice President – General Counsel at American International Group (AIG), where she oversaw all operations within the legal department in Thailand. She was responsible for a wide range of legal and regulatory issues in Thailand and throughout Southeast Asia and led significant restructuring, business expansion, and shared service projects. Before joining AIG Thailand, Athistha was a Counsel Member of the AIG Asia Pacific – Regional Legal Team. She previously worked in private practice for a number of years at DLA Piper’s Bangkok office.
She is a legal advisor to the Thai General Insurance Association – Legal & Compliance Committee.

Sabine is a growth expert with years of experience working with leading organisations such as IBM, FICO, Pegasystems, SSP and over 100 well- known financial institutions, including insurers. At The Proposition Circle, Sabine advises insurers, FinTech organisations and investors on ways to accelerate revenue generation through the design of stakeholder-driven propositions and intelligent engagement strategies. She works with a number of FinTech ventures helping them shape relevant customer propositions in the areas of the Internet of Things and Big Data Artificial Intelligence. She writes on the topics of strategic innovation, digitisation and experience design best practices, and defines ways to deliver unique differentiation programmes that optimise value creation.
Sabine is also an Advisory Board Member for the Monetary Authority of Singapore.
As the former UK head of insurance at Capgemini, Nigel has advised UK and European insurance companies on major systems replacements and technology transformation projects. By drawing on his relationships with technology partners, he has helped to improve the customer and broker experience. Nigel is one of the leading members of the InsurTech global movement.
